Biology students are rapidly finishing the first semester with a tour of organic compounds and cells with cell parts- the dirty dozen!!

We will have after school review sessions on Thursday, Dec. 8 and Monday, Dec. 12

Final Exams:  2nd hour- Friday, Dec. 16

                        7th hour- Tuesday, Dec. 13

SANTA'S HELPERS AND LHS ELVES

Students who signed up to be elves will prepare for a wonderful community service opportunity.
I will be calling parents to verify availability and check for address and pick-up time.

Dec. 23- Angel Arms and Jake.  Time to be determined.
Dec. 24- Santa's Helpers- children's homes.  1pm-5:30pm.
Dec. 25- Santa's Helpers- children's homes.  7am-11:30am

Environmental Science

We are finishing our unit on Protected Areas and National Parks. the exam is Thur, Dec. 8.

End of Semester Key Dates:  Dec. 9-   National Park Research Papers are due.
                                             Dec. 12- Action Points are due.

Final Exam Dates:  4th hour- WEDNESDAY, DEC. 14
                             3rd hour- THURSDAY, DEC. 15
                             5th hour- FRIDAY, DEC. 16

***Students going on the winter lodge trip must get their slip and money in before Christmas Break.
      THE TRIP IS JANUARY 14-15, 2012.

Environmental Club

Env. Club is enjoying our first semester Christmas Party on December 6.  Students need to bring 6$ to enjoy the feast- chinese buffet and many juices. 

First semester has seen two Tioga Trails work days, two field trips, and three displays in our 100's hall cabinet.  We did boonanza and will soon be selling eco-water bottles.

Second semester will start with our winter field trip to the zoo in January.  We will also be reading books at the ECE school, creating new LHS displays, and selling water bottles for our adopted village in Tanzania.

We will be making the plans for our May Ozark trip, May 5-6.

Students will be preparing for our Costa Rica trip May 30-June 10.  **MEETING MARCH 28 ! ! !

Students will also be signing up for the 2013 Great Smoky Mountains Trip, JUNE 1-8, 2013.

*** There will be a TJ's fundraiser over Christmas, with forms due in on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012

Environmental Club

The Env. Club had their fun-filled field trip to Lone Elk Park and the World Bird Sanctuary last Tuesday.  We also had a Tioga Trails work day on Saturday, Nov. 5.  We have just four meetings before Christmas Break.  Students will continue recycling and planning a new display cabinet theme.  We also will plan for our Christmas Party in December.

Biology -B

Students are finishing our review unit on Ecology and taking the exam on Friday.  There will be a review session Thursday (11/10) after school in Room 203.  We have learned a great deal even though our 2nd Ecology field trip was rained out- twice!!

Environmental Science

Students took the major exam today on Air and Atmospheric Processes.  We will begin our third unit on Thursday, National Parks and Protected Areas.  Everyone must review their 50 states!!
